Nini/Cecilie Development Project

BFS were very involved in this new development from the outset in 2003 with their customer UWG Group in Norwich. Two templates were manufactured by BFS here at our Beccles workshop, based only a few miles from the most Easterly point of the UK.

Following successful deployment and installation of these drilling templates by UWG, BFS were then successful in their tender with Saipem, and secured the miscellaneous fabrication works to assist with the ensuing pipe laying installation.

BFS Enterprise (Fabrications) Ltd has been established since May 1979 and initially manufactured propeller nozzles for export, and to provide a pool of skilled labour to service the off-shore industry on the East Anglian coast.

Based on the Ellough Industrial Estate at Beccles, in Suffolk, the company currently employs a nucleus of 14 skilled personnel both in the workshop and offices, comprising skilled fabrications engineers, structural technicians and specialist welders.

BFS rapidly gained a reputation for turning out quality work to specification and on time. The list of clients for marine and off-shore work and in general engineering has grown steadily. Within a year of starting operations in Beccles the company completed in five months the hook-up of a turbine/generator/compressor module involving 100 tonnes of pipework with diameters from lin (25mm) to 36" (914mm) heavy wall.

• Well Bay Supports for installation on the seabed;
• Generator Bedplate Structures,
• Numerous Pump and Motor Seats;
• Ladders;
• Walkways;
• Handrails and Stanchions;
• Stab-in-cones & rolled cones;
• Rolled and Welded tubulars in lin (25mm) thick plate;
• Pressure Vessels and tanks, in Carbon, Stainless and Chromium-molybdenum Steels, and Aluminium Alloys mainly for the off-shore industries;
• Rolling and pressing of plate material.

STOCKHOLDING FACILITIES

Through a variety of steels processed within BFS production, we can offer certain steel profiles at a very competitive price. Following fabrication of our core products, sizeable plate off-cuts are logged into stock via our materials controller. The plates are stored on racks on our newly acquired storage facility adjacent to the main workshop. Materials can be profiled to customers requirements and supplied with red line copy certification.
