RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT
BFS have been heavily involved in the production of
j-tubes for FLUOR
LIMITED who in turn were awarded contracts to supply materials
and construction for this offshore wind farm project.
Greater Gabbard, being developed by SSE
and RWE
npower renewables, will consist of 140 wind turbines, each with
a capacity of 3.6MW, which will have the effect of giving the entire
project a maximum capacity of 504.MW. The company also estimates
that the power generated from renewable energy sources will avoid
up to 1,000,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
BFS are very proud to be a part of this project, as seeking to produce goods from renewal resources is an important part of reducing our impact on the environment. If we can produce goods from natural resources that regenerate more quickly than we can use them, then it's great news for the environment.
